For those times when I need to take a break from writing, I write. It sounds crazy but it works for me. When I'm becoming worn down by the concept of writing. An. Entire. Book. I go to write something else. This is when I work on my Short Stories By Erica Jane series.
Something that I've written for your convenience to be read on the train to work, in the waiting room at your appointments, or when you're hiding in the bathroom at your job. Each story is different (so there will be something for everyone) and can be finished in under half an hour. So that you never have to say "but I don't have time to read."
My goal is a newly published story (available on Amazon for your Kindle or other devices) the first week of every month. So that you always have something to look forward to. In the meantime, you can always check out the ones I have already released. And P.S. I take all of the photos used on the covers myself. So that's cool. Right?
1- New York adventure. In a moment of frustration with everyday life, part-time artist Erin Jess packs a bag and sets off on an adventure unlike any she has had before. At 30 years old, this was her first plane ride. Her first trip to New York. And her first love. But, was it really?
2- My little secret. There are two sides to every story, every action, every person. The one shown to the world. And the other one. Here you get a rare look at both. Dark and light.
Short story number two roughly a 10-minute read (Short stories by Erica Jane)
3- Friends Forever. I'm Jane. Jane Leola Riley. And I'm dead. But it isn't as simple as that because I have been keeping it a secret from my best friend Ella, since it happened. I know that probably makes no sense to you, but it's true. Only eventually, the truth is going to come out. And when it does....
Book three in the Short Stories By Erica Jane series. Roughly a 15 minute read.
4- Clara Belle. A look inside the life of someone who always refused to follow the crowd. A bittersweet reminder to always be yourself
5- There's something on my mind.
I finish my often revisited rant with "Be true to your heart my ass." Then I pop the plastic handle of my paintbrush in my mouth and stand back to check out my creation. It looks sad, if paint spatters can be sad, then these ones definitely are. Or maybe I am projecting. That's always possible. But just to be on the safe side, I sprinkle in some drops of yellow. Yellow is a cheery color, you can't go wrong with adding some cheer. And it does help. A little, but I guess making this piece happy is just to much work for even yellow to handle. Poor yellow tried its hardest and still isn't enough. I feel you yellow, I think to myself as I tiptoe around the edges of the canvases trying not to step on any of them.
6- What if...?
Do you ever wonder what happens when we die? I do. It's actually something I think about often. Not because I want it, or look forward to it, but simply because I am curious. I like to have answers. And now, Meagan has those answers. Maybe. This is, after all, just one of my many theories. So ask yourself this, what if...?
7-Choices.
Choices: we make them every single day. Some small and seemingly insignificant, others large and life-changing. The problem is we can't always tell which is which. And that is something that Elvira is about to learn first hand.
